Problem:
Dust Mats are reasonably easily cleaned however the cost of generating the energy and the amount of water used to clean these mats constitutes a major part of the processing costs and if not controlled can affect the profitability of the process.
Solution:
After a detailed survey and subsequent analysis of their
requirements, Dunlop Design Engineering supplied a purpose built bespoke system
not only to filter but also to recover the water. This had the benefit of not
only saving money on water but also saving energy which was contained within
that water.
This site is unique in that no steam is required in water processes,
therefore a direct contact water heater was proposed which utilises a gas flame
directly in the water. This negates the need for an installation of an expensive
steam boiler and subsequent maintenance and insurance. Dunlop propose a unique
design consisting of:
The system chosen has a lifetime of 10-15 years and payback is in less than 14 months. It is clear that in utilising these technologies it has had a significant impact on a company’s bottom line.
